Why is it important to try new things?
Studies have shown that when you aren’t stepping out of your comfort zone and trying new things, your brain tends to turn itself off since it already knows what to expect. Trying new things helps activate your brain into learning mode and begin absorbing new information and thinking more creatively. Trying new things helps you learn more about yourself and the world around you.
Are your recommendations specific to Utah?
Great Question! While the activities and experiences shared on my blog are from specific locations in Utah, you can still find similar variations to a lot of the activities within your home state.
Where are you top favorite 3 locations in Utah for trying new activities?
Lake Powell is a great place for boating, hiking, paddle boarding, etc. There’s so many new things to try out when on the lake. Another great place is Moab. They have amazing spots for jeeping, biking, sight-seeing, and repelling! If you enjoy being in the mountains, Sundance has a lot to offer from skiing and snowboarding to art classes like watercolor and pottery.
How much do most of the activities cost?
Costs range anywhere from $0-$200! But don’t worry! There’s something for everyone that fits within their budget.
What advice do you have for those that find it hard to step out of their comfort zone?
Start small and involve people you are comfortable around. It’s always easier to try new things when I have a support system there with me.
